After Nonny fed us a yummy breakfast of waffles the kiddos went on a hunt to find their baskets. They LOVE this tradition..which was pulled from my childhood:). Cailey said she couldn't sleep because she was so excited about it.
Poppy hid all 128 eggs for the kids to find!! He hides them in great places even though there aren't many hiding places in their yard (with easier ones for Ephram, of course:). Our eggs are filled with candy and/or money...and I even had three giant eggs that could fit chapstick along with giant candy eggs. Ephram totally got into it and had a blast! The older three were on the 'hunt' for the golden egg which always holds the 'best' prize in it (usually being more money). This year Cailey found it for the first time and she was SO excited!! She kept saying that she was hoping to find it and stumbled upon it as her last egg!
Money has been such a great thing for us to put in the eggs because it's been helpful for them to practice counting it. Kinsey mastered it this year so she was excited to put it into practice! Usually there are just a few pennies...but sometimes there's even a quarter:)!
Checking out the loot...and posing for mommy because when i was sitting
on the deck helping ephram i realized what a gorgeous backdrop that tree was!
The afternoon was spent mostly outside with a few games thrown in. I was helping dad list his boxes on Etsy while Brian and the three oldest played a 'hot/cold' game with a plastic egg outside. Then they dyed eggs...and actually all tried one this year! Braden and Kinsey liked the whole thing but Cailey and Kinsey just liked the white:) (Braden has always loved them).
Mom made a yummy dinner of ham, mashed potatoes, salad, homemade rolls, chocolate cake, peas, and candied yams. We are very blessed!!
