April Fool's!

last night brian switched the girls in their beds as an april fool's joke but the joke ended up being on us when cailey came out at 6:00 wanting to know why kinsey was in her bed...and adamantly wanting to go back to hers. great idea...unless someone wakes up early:). oh...and i had buried them with stuffed animals.

today was SO MUCH fun!! the morning started with daddy telling everyone they were having broccoli for breakfast...a true shock to the morning system:). thankfully he was joking but it led from one joke to another and was a blast. by the time breakfast was over they were all thinking of their own tricks to play. the girls came to my room showing me that they were wearing each other's clothes...too big and WAY too small:).

while i was in the shower cailey filled my bed with the sorting manipulatives (under the sheets)...gotta admit it was a GREAT idea and reminded me of the time i filled anne's bed with cornflakes in college. i did actually think about putting something in the kids beds but didn't want to have to clean up a huge mess...cailey found the perfect thing!

the BEST and funniest thing i did was make 'sponge' cake for them with sprinkles and whipped cream. i called the kids in and they were thrilled to see the sweet treat. i only made one so they were sharing it.

braden started eating the topping right away. i had to tell him to STOP in between cracking up. cailey kept trying to get her fork to go through it then turned it upside down...but still didn't get it.

at this point i was laughing hysterically and finally explained that i covered a SPONGE with whipped cream and sprinkles and that's why it was a sponge cake:). to make it up to them we all made pink cookies so they could have a treat.

there were more jokes throughout the day...we had so much fun together!
