There was a CRAZY storm in Maryland the day before we were supposed to go called a derecho. Mom and dad lost power for a couple days so she drove down to stay with us. It was too hot in their house plus they didn't want to lose all their frozen food..and thankfully we had lots of room in the freezer. Right before she got to our house there was a crazy hail storm! The kids thought it was amazing to see ice falling from the sky when it was so hot outside. Thankfully it stopped right before she arrived and WE didn't lose power.
She gave the kids blackberry pie with ice cream before they headed out
to see fireworks. I wasn't feeling good and went to bed very early.
Dad called THAT night (after mom sat in terrible traffic to come to our house) and said they got power back. The original plan was for the kids and I to go back up and follow her then Brian would fly up closer to the 4th of July. Because I was really sick I wasn't able to go and she decided to take Kinsey with her for some special time. I felt better in a few days and drove up with Brian and the other kiddos.
