i bought these dresses for the girls (and Caroline) with matching doll dresses...and told them they could wear them. we were going to the mall...Tyson's corner (very cool mall). Then Cailey asked me if she could bring Kit with her to the mall (which worked perfectly in my plan:).
they twirled while waiting to leave...and of course got pics with their dolls. then we drove down to VA and Cailey said, "look! that girl brought her doll with her today too!" it made us smile. then cailey saw a whole GROUP of girls with dolls and couldn't believe so many people were bringing their dolls out shopping.
This is the NEW store that just opened in DC!
then she saw the reason and was unsure at first (because she didn't know American Girl Stores/Restaurants existed).
The girls had fun looking around and finding Kit and Ivy's best friends (Ruthie and Julie) and look at all the different outfits they had for their girls...and the time period settings were a great history lesson for us all. Nonny showed the girls things that she had as a little girl too like irons, washing machines, etc. Kinsey's favorite thing was looking at all the Ivy's and Julie's around the store...and Cailey's was EVERTHING! She liked the American Girl Bakery too:).
I didn't take pictures of it but they had hair salons for the dolls too! People were lined up to get their doll's hair fixed in braids, etc. They had a GREAT time!

How fun! The girls look adorable! I didn't know Tyson's had an AG store...we'll have to take Emma there next time we are at Ryan's parents house. We took her to the one in NYC almost 2 years ago, but she probably doesn't remember much about our visit. She got her bitty twin the day we were there. I think it was almost as much fun for me! Way to go for pulling off such a great surprise! :)
