cookie baking took several days this year because I didn't have an open weekend to do it all. i started after I taught while the older two were doing independent work so these two guys were my helpers in the beginning:). everyone LOVES helping me with baking...and they really are GREAT helpers!
and they do get rewarded:)
Cailey's favorite: orange drops! Braden's loves
Chocolate Bombs the most and the youngest two change their
minds everyday:).
My mom baked growing up (still does). She baked TONS of Christmas cookies to give away to everyone and I do the same thing. We give most of them away...and I at least double/triple, and even quadruple a couple recipes! This year we made around 26 plates to give away with 15 different baked goods on them.
another one of our Christmas traditions is driving around at night to deliver some of the cookies and looking at all the Christmas lights. we sing a carol or two when we deliver them and visit for a bit before going to the next house. these are a few of the surprise deliveries we made this year. we visited baby landon (and the Esh's), the White's (who were SUPER surprised:)...
the Speier's, and the Corbett's. We also went to the Morgan's that night but had to rush to pick Braden up at scouts and didn't get a picture:). Since it was such a busy night we didn't make it to some of our other 'usuals' but got them their cookies the next day.
On Brian's way to work he always surprises the people on the Leesville side of town with early morning cookies on their porches:).
Oh...and if I know someone's favorite there are ALWAYS more of those on their plates:).
