The Monster Story by: Cailey Barbour

Ashton, her sister, her daddy, her mommy, and her dog Erin went to the park. They were playing on the playground when it started to rain, so they rushed home. When they got home that evening the family decided to take a little rest.
When Ashton was fast asleep Abby saw a shadow. She was scared so she went under her covers. When she peeked out from under her covers she saw bright yellow eyes staring at her from under the bed. She started to cry in fright until her sister woke up. Then the dog came in and the room felt crowded!
Erin was barking, the girls were screaming, and the monster was growling at poor Erin! The girls started throwing toys at the monsters then they did teamwork and picked up their toy cradle and threw it at the monster. It was so heavy that it knocked the monster down on it's bottom. The girls laughed while Erin bit the monster. The monster was crying when they saw it running out of their room, downstairs, and out of the front door. The monster never came to their house again.

**Cailey has never been thrilled about writing but has come a LONG way this year. I thought she did SUCH a GREAT job on this story and was so proud of her! She thought of the whole thing and wrote it on her own. (She typed half of it and I helped her with the rest.)
