visit from nonny

mom came to visit us (YAY!!) for the weekend while brian was out of town (for 10 days) and took Cailey back with her for the week. the kids are all in swimming and baseball so we have a super busy schedule and don't have any days with nothing until Mother's Day (then it picks up again for the rest of May).

without brian here it was going to mean lots of missed naps and dragging ephram around to everything so I was VERY thankful to have mom's help. when she got there i was already at the GI for my appointment so she watched the kiddos for that, then I came home and took the middles to ball practice.

the next day we ran errands, had an egg hunt, swimming for cailey, then more practice.

saturday the girls had back to back games so luckily the williams were able to help us out with getting kinsey back to us (because the games were at different fields). it was a VERY strange day weather wise...rain, then no rain, very windy...eventually leading to a tornado and no power which meant many of the players didn't show up (i guess b/c of weather) so cailey and braden both got to help out the opposing team against kinsey by playing in the outfield! then we went to cailey's game where there were only THREE people on her team there. the opposing team had to give us some of their players which cailey thought was hilarious. cailey did so awesome and wanted to call brian right away to tell him she hit 3 out of 4 of the balls. after that we went to cici's for lunch, more errands, then home.

that afternoon they played cards and worked on the 3oo piece puzzle some more. then we had a tornado...a crazy tornado which thankfully spared our home/neighborhood but took our power. thankfully we saw it coming and had lit lots of candles. in the midst of it we didn't realize how bad it was and were actually sitting in front of the living room windows while ephram was napping peacefully up in his bed. SO thankful nothing happened!

loving on nonny

while nonny was here she blew out some eggs for us to dye/paint/color etc. this basket was mine from my childhood and these are eggs that my mom (mostly) or i painted/glued stuff on years ago. i always have them out on the counter at Easter time and just love them. amazing to me that hollow eggs lasted this many years!

we used a sharpie on one of the new eggs and it turned out pretty cool. mom has the rest at home and after we dyed them she decided to paint them. can't wait to see them and add them to my basket next year!
