First Swim Meet

our cute encourager who couldn't wait to hug them!

This is Zoe. She was in Cailey's Kindergarten class but moved mid year to Scotland for two and a half years. I recognized her and her mom at a practice that braden went to (while cailey was at camp) and immediately reintroduced myself to her. Cailey still talks about the girl who moved to Scotland named Zoe so I just KNEW she'd be thrilled! Her sister, Sydney, was playing with an ipad and let Kinsey join in...they became fast friends! This was the first time Zoe and Cailey re-met and they were stuck like glue for the whole meet.

We are SO excited because this year there are lots of girls on the swim team who are in Cailey's age group. Last year there weren't.

This was Braden's first meet and he had a great time! He swam great and enjoyed the whole experience. On another note, he's kind of bummed because the swim team bathing suit is not made in a small enough size for him to fit into. They are 'biker' style and fall off him. Even the ones with a small enough waist hang way out on his legs and just look weird...so he has to wear a regular suit which according to everyone 'slows him down'. We've decided it's not the Olympics so we're ok with it:). Hopefully as he gets older and GROWS he'll fit into one someday.

Cailey cut TONS of time off her times from last year in every stroke. Once she learns to dive (which she's terrified to do) she'll cut even more off. Thankfully she's in it to have fun and only cares about how she did compared to her previous times:) (Though hearing she beat other swimmers made her get excited too:). Braden did great too and beat other swimmers as well! He isn't very competitive (actually neither of them are) and is just in it for the fun:).

how to survive a hot swim meet...find shade and eat lots of snacks:)
