First Day of School

Seoul of Hamilton Academy officially started
on August 18 (but didn't resume until the 23).

We took the Monday off for Cailey's birthday and got right to work the morning after...while Brian was in Seattle.

they requested Pistachio salad for breakfast so after they were filled with cool whip, pudding, pineapple, and marshmallows it was time for pictures:)!

Cailey is a 4th grader, Braden is a 2nd grader, and Kinsey is a Kindergartner! They all picked out their clothes for the first day of school and the girls decided they wanted to match.

We have a lot to get in our day but I'm trying to take a more laid back approach about it this year realizing we always get done at the end of April. (trying:) We usually start our day at 8:00 so we can fit it all in. We've yet to start Latin for the year but here is our schedule for the year:

working...ephram still LOVES to draw draw draw...and check out that pencil grip- better than some kindergartners!

After a couple of shaky days things have gotten 'normal' around here and we are getting in our groove. We've had visitors a couple days this week and managed to still get school done because we did some things in the evenings or on weekends until our activities are in full swing next week. Ephram spends time in his room for about an hour while I teach Kinsey first on Monday and Tuesdays while the older two have piano lessons. Then Kinsey plays with him while I teach the other two Math, English, Spelling, and WWE. Then they alternate reading to me while the other does independent work.

The other two days I start with the oldest two first because it's easier so Kinsey will play with Ephram while I teach, then I'll take her while he does room time and she'll play again. I am trying to do some things with Ephram while the others are working independently and usually will go out for that time so he can get attention too. Ephram does come in a draw, color, do puzzles, play with letters, etc. some mornings. We AIM to get it all done before lunch which is doable as long as everyone is working hard. History and Science have been left for the evenings with Brian for now because it's just easier and the mornings are so full already. Eventually they will probably be moved back when all the activities begin.
