This year Braden drew a design on his pinwood derby car to be cut into the shape of a whale. He had a vision from the beginning and I think it turned out great! He's so artistic and creative..and LOVES to draw. I think he chose a whale after studying so much about them this year in Science. I was surprised and totally expected him to want it to be a Lego car:). We are very 'hands off' when it comes to kids projects but it's funny to show up and see all the kids cars who were CLEARLY designed and made mostly by the parents ie. the ones with led lights and weights drilled all over to make it heavier:).

And their off! He never had the slowest car and came in second once, but mainly hung out right in the middle. This year there were 5 cars against him whose cars never made it across the finish line.

Braden boy LOVES scouts but would really love to have a friend who he knows a little better join him in his troop. These boys all go to school together and know each other very well...and are all 'typical' crazy boys:). We have always called Braden "the calm in the storm" in situations like this. We keep trying to recruit his friends but have so far been unsuccessful. For now he wants to continue and loves everything they do at scouts:).
