Great Wolf Lodge- day 2

day 2 started off with the kiddos seeing Violet in the hall on the way down to the water park! ephram wanted nothing to do with the giant wolf but the other kiddos were happy.

ephram and carter got started playing in the water right away while the others went down the slides over and over all day long(starting at 9am) because there were NO lines to wait in! day 1 had little lines (like a 5 min wait) but day 2 there was no waiting on any of them. i actually got dizzy at one point from going down the slides and running right up the stairs over and over again...and decided to watch ephram while they went down with daddies and each other.

ephram learned QUICKLY that when the bell went off it was time to RUN away from the ton of water that was about to come down! i love these two pics b/c they are right after each other...running and safe:)

fun with daddy! i don't have many pics of the older two on day two b/c they were busy sliding with each other all day long!

though ephram got very little sleep the night before he did a great job and had fun in the toddler area, pool, and spray section. he seems to be like braden though and has a hard time keeping himself warm...poor guy would be shivering and his teeth chattering.

i asked brian to send ephram down this 'curvy' baby slide so that i could catch him at the bottom. he sent him down but from where he was looking (the back) he thought ephram was stuck. ephram was HAPPILY taking his time coming down but LOVING it the whole way. Brian decided (we couldn't see each other so I wasn't able to tell him everything was fine) that he would go behind him to 'help' him get unstuck. yeah. let's just say that plan was TERRIBLE! poor brian...and poor ephram. i had NO CLUE WHY he was coming down but couldn't believe what happened next.

My view: ephram is happily coming down and then Brian comes CRASHING into him from behind and lands on his head, holding him under the water (for what seems like forever) because he (brian) can't stand up quickly. He also lands on top of Kinsey, who was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her happy baby brother.

Brian's view: i'm going to help ephram go down the baby slide because he looks stuck. something goes wrong and i slip and can't stop going or stop myself from crashing into ephram or kinsey at the bottom. ouch. the baby pool is shallow.

The adults watching (Brandon, myself, and many others) could NOT believe what had just happened. Kinsey and Ephram were screaming and Brian felt terrible. Then we all start cracking up because really...it was so CRAZY that it was 'funny' after we knew everyone was ok. (Guess you had to be there).

Later ephram kept saying, "ow" and we looked down and noticed that BOTH of his knees were bloody and scraped...he had his FIRST scraped knees from it:(. i thought he was crying because he went underwater and was scared..poor thing had boo boos too! so i tease brian about it and tell him that he gave ephram his first boo boos:).

for someone who didn't nap the day before OR sleep well at night he was tired and willing to take a nap on mommy...which of course i LOVE. i just kept looking at his eye lashes, tiny nose, cheeks, and loved that i could snuggle with my almost 2 year old:). i know days when he'll nap on me are going to be rare from here on out so i just treasure them when they happen!

we left GWL in the evening and had one more surprise planned for the kiddos (who had an AMAZINGLY fun day)...

and met their cousins, nicky and abby (and Aunt Leigh) at a nearby chick fil a. one of the things cailey had guessed on our trip up was that we were going to see them so i was thrilled it was able to work out! we left at 6:30 (in the pouring rain) to go home and all four of the kids were asleep within 20 minutes...seriously. that's what little sleep the night before and two days of going hard at the water park will do. i was worried they wouldn't sleep at night if they took such a late night but they all fell back asleep quickly and slept great. what an AMAZING two days we had together!
