dinner with friends

Carter and Ephram precious little
BFF's meant to be!

Kinsey LOVES to play mama. For some reason she
thinks Caroline is a baby and tries to change her
diaper (even though she doesn't wear diapers), and feeds
her like a baby, etc. We found them in the bathroom together
like this and just had to get a picture. My little nut is feeding
Caroline a bottle while she's going potty. Last time we came over we
found them in the bathroom with a NEW box of bandaids all over the
bathroom and themselves.

supergirl trying to do a pull up
(i tried too..didn't succeed either:)

playing TWISTER...SO fun that they can play games like
this now. found out that we need to work on right and left, though

cailey has really been into dress up lately!

strollin'

Not sure why...but every time we get a baby we seem to take a lot of family walks around the neighborhood. It happened with Braden, then Kinsey, (even Macy:), and now Ephram. We LOVE taking walks together...and the oldest one loves running as much as she can. I treasure our walks and precious time with each other. Ephram enjoys it as much as the rest of us do! They all take turns pushing the stroller (a FAVORITE for some reason) and we just talk and talk...love it! We ARE so blessed!fa

OOOooooo.... I'm tellin'.........

We have a very happy baby. He usually never cries. That's awesome!! We love it!

The other night during dinner (Ephram does NOT like to eat) I was feeding him his food. He stuck his thumb in his mouth as the bite was coming closer. I was joking around and said (in 5th grade style) ooooo.....i'm tellin'.....you stuck your thumb in your mouth while you were eating...
and this was his reaction.

Yep...I made my sweet, happy, never sad, baby cry. We thought that SURELY it was a coincidence, so like any great family we said it again...just to be sure that's why he was crying. And yes...once again his precious face IMMEDIATELY turned from happy to SO sad and tears were streaming down his face. Poor baby. The next ten minutes the other kiddos were laughing hysterically and torturing our normally happy boy with repeats of "oooo...I'm tellin'". New rule in the Barbour house: no one can say "ooooo....I'm tellin'" in front of the baby.

**When Cailey was about 11 months old she would start crying- no, SCREAMING when anyone said "YAY!!!" for her. That's a hard thing not to say when you are constantly encouraging someone trying to walk, talk, do new things, etc. Finally one day (a couple months later) I was fed up and decided to say it over and over until she didn't care anymore...after a few minutes of screaming she stopped and never had a problem with the word again. I'm not planning on doing the same thing with Ephram because, really, who says "oooo...I'm tellin'" anyways?

castles galore

In history we've been talking a lot about castles lately and Braden is just soaking it all in. He builds them ALL THE TIME with whatever he can find...some even have moats and drawbridges! He's built them with blocks, legos, tinker toys, lincoln logs, and other manipulatives. I wanted to remember his love of castles so I took this shot a few weeks ago of this one that was in the very beginning stages of being built.

Swimming

i always find this funny when she has all three of them
attached to her!

The kiddos started swimming lessons again at the beginning of January and are loving it! Mrs. Gould does such a great job of meeting each one where they are at and constantly encourages and lifts them up. They can all pretty much 'swim' at this point (at different levels) but are working on skills like side breathing, reaching farther with their arm strokes, learning back stroke, etc.

Crazy Hair Night

braden got a ton of compliments,
including several people who
said he should do this everyday:)

'faux' hawks

The kids have theme nights every two weeks at AWANAS which they just love! I think it's great because since they aren't at school, it gives them the chance to have another place to participate in these kinds of things. A while back they had crazy hair night and they were just thrilled! Braden wanted his hair to stick up and this is what we came up with. I don't have a lot of hair 'stuff' other than hairspray but it worked:). Kinsey said she wanted two braids on the sides and lots of ponytails. Once Cailey saw Kinsey's hair, she decided she wanted that too. So fun!

They had jammie night while Brian and I were in Korea and wore their matching polar bear ones.

comfy?

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner (before we went to Korea) while having a great conversation with Cailey. After I put it in the oven I went into the living room so I could sit with her, and found her like this! Hilarious! I couldn't believe that she had been sitting in the baskets the whole time:)! Silly girl!

brief snow

Friday night it started snowing and the kiddos were so excited! Saturday morning they went out and played in it but by the afternoon it had melted. Cailey was actually happy that it melted and said she likes it better when it only lasts a day. They were happy to be able to build a big snowman this time and actually made four (one for each of the kids). This time it was a wet snow...great for snow ball fights!

i love it when the trees are coated!
