5AM and Out and About

skyping with my babies at home (EARLY in the morning here)

this is the subway system. we were able to figure it out
pretty easily and one time when we were clueless a sweet man
appeared and led us to where we needed to go.

it's VERY clean! this was when everyone was at work.
when we went during rush hour the whole thing was FILLED
with people.

notice the door that protect people from getting hurt or falling onto
the tracks

not sure if there is a reason, but each train we've been on has
different colored handles to hold on to

the seats are heated!! it's pretty cold here (similar to MA)
so the heated seats are helpful. they must turn them off during
rush hour because it gets HOT with all the people inside

we went back to the HUGE market and found the exact booth we
were looking for!! can't wait to see the kiddos in their new Hanbok's!
Mrs. Lee also gave us one as a gift for Ephram.

rice pancake with cinnamon and sugar.
there is a food 'aisle' where people are cooking things
right on the streets. brian has tried several things and
liked most of them.

This is what we did before we went to meet Ephram. Afterwards we went back to the other market (Insadonggil) to buy more gifts. It's pouring pretty bad here today so we are going to look for something to do indoors. There is a HUGE mall here called COEX that people recommend going to. It has an aquarium, kimchi museum, and tons of other things.

I REALLY wanted to go to the skytower (which is similar to the space needle) so we could see all of Seoul...we're told it's an AMAZING view and great for pics! You have to either climb a ton of steps (up the mountain) to get there or ride a cable car up to it. I wanted to climb the steps:) (I say that now:). Since it's cloudy and pouring rain...and the forecast isn't supposed to change in the next couple of days we're not going to be able to do that this trip.

We want to come back with the kiddos when Ephram is ten so hopefully we can do it then. For now we'll be looking for things to inside and trying not to get drenched. We've done TONS of walking the past few days as everything is outside and requires the subway. We bought an umbrella in the market yesterday that fell apart as soon as it was opened...ha! Lesson learned:).
