landscaping

miniature butterfly bush and knockout roses

i asked for flowers for my hanging baskets for
mother's day and they are still alive!

after...can't wait to watch everything grow!

We do not enjoy working in the yard and pretty much kill everything we plant. Our house had boxwoods all along the front under the big window and I've never been crazy about them. BUT...they were alive and well so we didn't mess with them. One of the kids threw a ball into a bush and it started dying so we decided to rip them all out. We were unsure of what to plant there and were planning on putting some kind of shrubs (or maybe just all knockout roses) in their place. I remembered that Beth LOVES to work in the yard and knows all about flowers so she became our landscape designer and went with Brian to pick things out. I researched some things on the computer to pick out for other places and then Beth came over and showed Brian where to plant everything. So far we've been watering great and everything is still alive:). Thanks, Beth!!

Update: our butterfly bush is bringing the butterflies!

Does Beth know how to keep deer from eating everything? My begonias have all their heads chewed off now (happens every year when the flowers reach their prime no matter what I plant) and we haven't gotten to taste a single blueberry from our bushes. Our rose bushes usually do quite well, though, as long as we keep them treated for beetles and other harmful creatures. Enjoy your flowers!
