Rocket Day

Braden has LOVED scouts this past year and has had a lot of neat opportunities to do things we wouldn't normally do...such as shoot off rockets. Brian and Braden bought a rocket from Michael's then realized it didn't come with a parachute so they figured out how to make one from a trashbag, hole punch, tape, and twine. Then we went to Blue Jay Point to watch the rockets launch. It was a RARE cool and breezy July day (praise God!)...perfect day for being outside in the summer.

they launched them four at a time...and the boys could launch them as many times as they wanted. the first time Braden's didn't take off but the second countdown it went WAY up. and the parachute worked SO WELL that it....

got stuck in a tree:(. We were in an open field but trees were all around and Braden's happened to be one of several to get stuck in a tree. We tried throwing rocks but it was just too high. Next time the parachute will have a hole in the middle:).

We still had an amazing day and Braden loved every minute of it!
