Girl Weekend 2012!

This year Karen and I went to meet Adele for lunch again (b/c she couldn't get time off for the whole weekend since they are going to Disney). Laura surprised us by meeting up there too! We had a nice LONG lunch and were able to catch up.

I have always wanted to go to a hot air balloon festival and there happened to be
one in Statesville so we went on the way to Asheville.  We walked around being silly
and trying on hats, checked out crafts, then went to wait for the balloons to take off.

Adele had to leave before they went up.  It was SO neat to watch the process and breathtaking to see them all in the sky.  Laura read us the history of hot air balloons and the process, etc. on the way to Asheville:).
There were 30 balloons!

After a late breakfast on Saturday (which was humorous, thanks to Matilda...remember girls, Panera is on the left) we drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped at some gorgeous overlooks. I LOVE fall and the leaves did not disappoint!

People were so great to take pictures of us but for this one we DIED laughing (afterwards, of course) because I asked a man if he would take our picture and he turned away from us to literally take A picture of the mountains. With my camera. As if I couldn't do that myself. I somehow got up the courage to ask him again...to take one of us and he did. But he was NOT joking...it was hilarious!

We drove through several tunnels and stopped to hike at Craggy Gardens. The hike was unlike ones we'd done the previous years and it almost seemed like we were hiking on a horror movie set because the trees were scraggly! It was beautiful...just different.

After stopping for cute tree poses along the way:), we made it to the top! Oh what a site it was. SO worth the hike!
After our hike we walked around Biltmore village, went to Target for snacks and cute matchy socks (since the jammies were NOT cute), and got a yummy pretzel for a snack.  We went to Cheddar's for dinner then to the movies (and used FREE tickets from last year when we saw The Help:) to see Pitch Perfect. It was hilarious..and good...but was awfully crass in parts. Then we jammed to the soundtrack on the way back home. We stayed up chatting and laughing more:). LOVE sweet friendships!

We used our matchy sock/slippers from two years ago and jammies then added these cuties to our wardrobe:).

Funnies:
