We came down to the beach on Saturday after the first soccer games of the season. We have all been so excited about our trip but when Ephram broke his leg I started dreading it because the dr. said we shouldn't even bring him on the sand because if one grain of sand got in his cast he could get sand mites or a rash. As I was leaving Cailey's tonsillectomy follow up I saw umbrella bags and started figuring out how we could bring him down to the sand with us. Since we spend all day on the beach (8-2) then the big kids go in the pool with daddy while I take Ephram up to nap it was unrealistic to think that he'd stay in the condo the whole day for a week.
I brought knee high panty hose for the first layer over his cast so that it would squeeze over the top of the cast blocking sand from getting in. Then the umbrella bag and some duck tape. Then I fold it back down and use more duct tape. Next up is an ace bandage up his entire leg and under his bathing suit. Last I tie and duct tape a trash bag over the layers and pray the sand stays out!
Ephram LOVED being in the sand and can't wait to build a sand castle:).

Our tradition for day one is to go right to the ocean before even changing clothes and the kids LOVE it! After staying out until dusk we come in a order pizza on night one and eat in front of the ocean view:).
Ephram asked daddy to take him to the water several times
