long road to recovery

Cailey is recovered now even though there is still a faint pain in the back of her throat from the scabbing. She had some sweet visitors including the Morgan's, Klick's, and her cousins. After 10 days she had a HUGE incentive to feel better and I think it helped a TON for her morale. If she felt better we would go to Carowinds to celebrate her birthday, then she would get to stay with Rebecca for three nights (though the main reason for that was the surprise party).

We were given codeine to help her with the pain but after day 1 she just REFUSED to take it, saying that it was too disgusting. After a few days of excruciating pain we finally made her take it and daddy rewarded her by playing Just Dance for Kids to the Chicken Dance song. SO sweet!! I got a TON of snuggles with my sad girl....with day 7 being the hardest for her:(.

She lived on slushies and popsicles...and milkshakes until her scabs came in completely and were starting to fall off. Then it hurt to eat cold things so she struggled to find things that wouldn't hurt. I am PRAYING that the surgery was worth it and will keep her well now!
