Leg Update

This was the x ray of his leg..which bowed because of the Legos that were underneath it when he fell. He was SUCH a trooper and we set his favorite things out on the couch for him.

He got a new ABC Star Wars book that he LOVES!! He mostly played with Star Wars toys and LEGOS up on the couch for the first week.

Ephram and Cailey had slushies together:)

Ephram loved having visitors and got three playdates. A quick visit from Carter before he went to the beach, and playdates with Lucas and Alex.

Ephram wanted to help take his soft cast off...he talked about it for days:). He was definitely helpful! His leg was still bruised and swollen when it came off.

Sweet Ephram reached out for Sweet Kinsey's hand while he was getting his cast on..he was hurting:(. After he got it on he felt much better. Then it was Frank's turn! Ephram laughed while Frank was getting his cast.

Ephram wanted a "Light blue cast not Duke blue". He helped them take his old one off and sat patiently while they put it on him. Then we asked if Frank could have one too and they said yes! Ephram was thrilled that he had matching casts with Frank:).

On Sunday (a week after it happened...3 days after getting the hard cast) Ephram learned how to scoot around on the floor using his arms to hold his weight. We were bummed that he had to have a whole leg cast in order to stabilize his femur because he's so immobile but now that he's adapted and can scoot and it's so very cute!! We'll got back in three weeks for the first set of x rays, then a week after each until it's healed.

Unfortunately our beach trip is going to be very interesting since he can't go on sand or in the water:(. He also won't be able to start preschool at the same time as his peers. There is never a good time to break your leg...but this was definitely a bad time!!

One week after the break Ephram started scooting around on the floor which has made his life a little easier. He still needs potty help and TONS of other help but now he can play with toys on the floor and get to where he wants to go easier.
