1st grade bible day

Last Christmas we gave Cailey her first 'real' bible. We didn't realize that our church gives out bibles to all the first graders every year. (Oh well...can never have too many bibles, right?) This past Sunday Cailey got to go get hers and was VERY excited about it! Afterwards they made covers for them and ate doughnuts:).

Now that she can read and knows the books of the bible she's been looking up verses and reading bible stories. She's discovering that not all bibles have the same wording and some of the verses she's memorized from Awana are different than what she's learned. It's so neat to see her learning so much and choosing to spend time reading the bible!

It's amazing how this ceremony sticks in a little kid's mind. Lindsey has received Bibles, for presents before, but she sure never forgets her Bible the church gave her. What a wonderful thing our church does for these little first graders.
