An Eye Update

Braden had an eye appointment at 8am this morning. It was rather long and he saw three doctors (including a visiting one from Singapore)! His vision hasn't changed since last time but they did think his 'ulcer' (as they called it today) looked better. SO...by Sunday he'll be off all of his drops..YAY!! They are also lowering the dose of his oral antibiotic. The best part of all is that he doesn't have to go back until next Thursday (which means they really believe it's going away!). Reflecting on where we were 6 days ago is crazy. We (including the dr's) went from thinking he was going blind PERMANENTLY in his eye to now...just six days later (it seems like a lot longer)!

Miraculous and truly a blessing. We were showered with prayers from friends of friends and family of friends and beyond. We'll never know just how many people prayed for healing..thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

For the people who asked if Braden was worried about it at all I did have a conversation with him and it went something like this:

M- Braden, how are you feeling about your eye?
B- Fine
M- Do you ever worry or think about it?
B- Well, sometimes.
M- What do you think or worry about?
B- I wonder why it hurts sometimes and not others and why I can see sometimes and not others.

To sum up the conversation I think he thought about the tangible things (but didn't worry...just wondered) just not the long term implications. I don't even think he knew it could be permanent because it's not something we focused on with him.

Braden handled this like a CHAMP. He's awesome. He took dozens of drops all day everyday (reminding us when he needed them) without a peep...and they burned. He took horse pills four times a day and knew exactly when to take them...and better yet, remembered! He remembers better than I do with my own medicines!

We do know that this could return in the future but at least it's now clear to us what needs to be done (IMMEDIATELY) about it.

Thank you again for prayers and emails!
