Marbles

After our fun Saturday morning we headed over to Marbles Museum. I hadn't been there since they moved...it was SO much bigger and better!! (Brian has taken the kids there twice sinced it's changed locations:) The kids started out playing a GIANT connect four game (a favorite of nonny's) and mancala. Braden loved dressing up as a firefighter, cooking, talking on the phone (in a phone booth), wearing flippers, being a pirate, legos, and most of all the TOOLS!!! Poppy was very excited to see the tools and taught the kids how to use them. Braden and Brian continued using tools long after the girls were bored.

Cailey liked dressing up (both downstairs in dramatic play and upstairs with clothes from around the world), grocery shopping for me, playing in the doctor section, playing in the water (making the boats SPLASH down), checking out the shark, pulling up the anchor, and tools. Her FAVORITE things to do were in the Olympics section though. She tried to hula hoop (so did poppy:), went on the balance beam, did the long and high jump, and played hockey. She watched a good bit of the Olympics so it was neat for her to be able to try things out.

Kinsey had fun doing EVERYTHING! She liked the farm section (she tried to ride the stuffed horse), picking vegetables, dressing up, talking on the phone, and pretty much imitating everything she saw the others doing. She did go on her own when she was playing with the Legos, though. I'd say that was her favorite thing..she was pretty determined no matter how many times her tower fell down! Oh..and she LOVED all the clothes shoes from around the world.

What a great place to take your kids! We have a discovery place here in Bloomington but I don't think it is as big as that Marbles place! Great that Nonny and Poppy were there to share in the experience!
