Nomad hut
This week in History the kids learned about Nomads and Nomad farmers. They helped Brian build a hut in the yard with big sticks and leaves yesterday. We talked about how nomads killed animals and used their skin to cover the huts and we decided that we'd pretend the blankets were animal skin! They 'swept' out the leaves with a stick and closed the hut when a bee came to keep it out. After building the hut they were hungry and decided to have their 'MUD' snack in it:)!

What a fabulous idea! I'm tellin ya, you are doing the best time period of all! I'm jealous! And your poor husband doing all that with a sore back. He deserves to be treated like a king the rest of the week! :) What a great Dad!
hey - do you want some pictures of animal skins? weird question, I know! I have several from our last visit to Jamestown. They weren't nomads, but still pretty interesting to see the huts filled with skins.
